I finished Samurai Remnant aaaand… it was good. I think there’s probably extra/True endings, but I—it was like 40 hours, dood, I’m not doing it again no matter how good it was.

The last time I ever REPLAYED AN ENTIRE RPG just to get the True Ending was Kingdom Hearts. Maybe Kingdom Hearts 2, too, idr.

You stop the Waxing Moon Ritual which is like, the reason why all the Heroic Spirits have been summoned, it’s like a tourney to win a fake holy grail that can grant wishes. Aaaaaaaaaaaaa… anyway some jerk, summons an evil dragon god and you kill it and end the ritual. But you also destroy the uh… vessel that grants the wishes, because you think, correctly, that it’s black magic that will end up harming the world.

Hey remember the Wish Granter from Shadow of Chernobyl? What a g—I’m getting distracted. --wait imagine if you could use the Wish Granter for a gf lol. But she’s like, as radioactive as the Elephant’s Foot and after you spend 1 night with her you just die. That would have made a good ending, right? THAT’S NOT AS DUMB AS THE “WEALTH” ENDING WHERE YOU JUST GET BURIED IN COINS.

Anyway… Samurai Remnanet… there’s a ton of loose ends that don’t get resolved. The samurai girl. YOU.(seemed like a little somethin’ between the two of you) Even Saber, who you now know issss.. Takeru… Takeru… something… what’s the Spirit of Japan called again? That’s what his surname is… Yamato. Yamato Takeru. He’s Yamato Takeru, a leeeeegendary prince—we don’t see what happens with him and his wife! Also there’s some MYSTERIOUS WARRIOR IN WHITE and you just learn *nothing* about him, so that’s got to be another ending I missed.

I got 100% in all of the side quests except for ooooone guy -_- uh… I can’t remember his name, but he’s a general from Romance of the Three Kingdoms iirc. He’s an Archer in the game. Tragically, in the game, his mind gets taken over, and he commits suicide so he won’t hurt you.

That was ROUGH, man. It doesn’t show it, but the controller vibrates when he stabs his own neck with an arrow. Only a few Servants end up dying. Another is SAMSON, who gets his hair clipped *again* by a woman he liked. But he was glad, because, like Archer, he was being controlled. He’d been proteccing her home the entire game. His last words (and only words, because he was a Bersesrker class) were “Thank you” as he dies with her holding his hand. The Male Fantasy.

OH, and you have a duel to the death with your teacher, Musashi. Just for fun because she’s insane. Another nice, wholesome death lol. Throughout the game, her title is THE FLOWER AT THE APEX OF HEAVEN. Don’t you just love dramatic titles like that?

AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa I really can’t tell you how DEEPLY upsetting it is that there’s no free play. I know I keep complaining about it but dooooood. There’s 10 playable characters, and even more in the DLCs. WHY WOULD THEY NOT LET YOU PLAY AROUND WITH THEM against hordes of enemies? It’s INSANITY. ...i wonder what the DLCs are like… hm...

Overall though, the game is absolutely grrrrrrrrreat. If I had any energy left is my stupid body to write proper vidya reviews anymore, I’d give it a proper article. But I don’t. At least not rn. I have a loooooot to say about the actual gameplay, but zZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz… maybe I’ll write an article “eventually”, I’ll add it to the list v_v

lemme see if I have any more yap energy…

biggest issue with the gameplay is the dodge mechanic I think. Getting perfect dodges for a lot of enemies is extremely ball-busting, it really doesn’t feel consistent. But with some enemies, it DOES feel consistent. Don’t you DARE tell me to git gud, either.

I just don’t like it, because it feels like you have to constantly be healing yourself because you didn’t nail what FEELS like it should have been a perfect dodge. Now, that said? Completely avoiding attacks in general w/ distance and regular dodging is usually pretty easy.

ENOUGH.

I mostly loved the game. I really did. It made me crave like, another open-world game set in Japan. I might try those uh… Samurai… what were they called… the sam—Way of the Samurai? Maybe.

I’d rather her leave me.

The sorrowful mother was standing
