I checked the book. THE SECOND STAGE TURBINE BLADE. My correction was correct, Mariah isn’t a Prise. She’s… a witch, whatever that means. As far as I can tell, she’s unique.

When we meet her, the Prise are visiting her, asking her for help with *something*, I can’t even really tell what. Lol. Why would they need her help?

Lemme –before I continue, pls allow me to say that this story is ALL over the place. Sometimes things just don’t really make much sense. NOW THAT SAID: it’s freaking good, man. It’s so BIG, it’s so COMPLETE. Claudio Sanchez really created an entire Universe. It’s not worth getting into if you’re not a Coheed and Cambria fan, but if you ARE, then reading it is like MIND-BLOWING. It’s so much fun seeing lyrics peppered throughout the comic.

Anyway, uhhhhh… Mariah is the lover of INFERNO aka the Prise Fighter. Literally, he gets into boxing matches with them lol. Uhh… iirc they’re mostly-allied though. It’s… well, whatever.

And Inferno is the brother of Coheed. Inferno and Mariah are leading a human rebellion against WILHELM RYAN, THE TRI-MAGE, who’s just a genocidal freak who wants to uh…. Use human souls as fuel or something, idr.

I’m really yapping a lot, lemme get to the point: we see Mariah use her “witch” powers exactly twice (and we see her like 4 times in total). The firsts time she’s levitating and closes a door with her mind, just to let us know she has magic. And one time in a battle she like, casts an explosion from herself and kills idk, call it 100 people or something.

And then like a page later, Mayo Deftinwolf somehow sneaks up on her—a witch—and cuts her throat. The End.

I HATE HIM SO MUCH, HE CAN’T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT.

It’s nice that he *eventually* gets got, but he REALLY got away with too much.

Mariah was a wasted character. Literally most of the time we see her(and we don’t see her often), she’s using a gun for some reason. Bro, she’s a WITCH, isn’t she? Make her do WITCH things.

Of course, I do typically appreciate witches getting their throats slit🧙‍♀️🗡️, but Mariah wasn’t a typical witch, she was an ally of the Prise and God :’(

Wait a sec lol I just remembered how Ryan’s killed. He like gets electrocuted or something, but because SOMEONE made some kind of mistake, he was able to like, upload his consciousness somewhere else, so he just freakin immediately resurrects outside of the Prise’s captivity.

Claudio deserves major props for making such HATEABLE villains. You know, in Year of the Black Rainbow, Ryan literally tortures some scientist’s wife for YEARS, keeping her uh—iirc keeping her constantly awake, psychologically tormenting her, tricking her into thinking her husband’s abandoned her. She has nerves of steel though, and she thinks she’s coping with it.

And then he reveals that all of the years of agony she’s endured have actually only been a few minutes.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! I HATE HIM SO MUCH HE’S EVEN WORSE THAN MAYO!!

Idk whatever happened, it’s been years since I’ve really paid attention to Coheed, idk if the story ever concluded… it was like a prophecy though that Claudio’s self-insert would eventually kill Ryan. And he will, Ryan’s gonna get his, just like Mayo did.
