I’m glad that I get to DEFEND Richard Dawkins as a former-atheist. I don’t really agree with his conclusion, I don’t think Claude is conscious. But from a materialist worldview like his, it’s hard to claim that AI isn’t conscious. I saw a few of his fellow atheists being critical of him, coping with “W-well they don’t have FEELINGS, i-it’s just complex mimicry based on training data!”
Is it though? Because I hear materialists say the same thing about the human brain all the time. And whose word am I supposed to take that they don’t have feelings?

The opinions of non-Christians can be safely discarded, regardless of what they chose.
However, I’ve seen some Christians be red-pushers and accuse bluefags such as myself of SUICIDAL EMPATHY.
Suicidal empathy is a genuine problem in Western nations. White liberals, for example, are the only group of people ever recorded to have negative in-group preference. Other people can *like* groups or individuals different from them, but they’ll still ttend to prefer their own. So whether Black people are Liberal or Conservative, they tend to prefer Black people. Whether Asians are Liberal or Conservative, they tend to prefer Asians. And Conservative Whites prefer Whites. Only Liberal Whites have the brain virus of suicidal “empathy”(it’s not really empathy, but never mind that), preferring other races to their own.
I’ve also seen it compared to that “morality heat map”, that suggests the closer something is to a Conservative, the more they care about it while caring less about what’s further away, and the further something is away from a Liberal, the more they care about it while caring less about what’s closer to them.
But is this BUTTON QUESTION really an example of either?

A classic example of suicidal empathy is to want your country’s borders to be opened to 3rd-world migrants, which will invariably turn whatever city unfortunate enough to receive them into a completely unsafe shithole where the locals are robbed, raped, and killed as sacrifices for the GDP.
I don’t think pressing blue is like that, though. For starters, it’s not a guarantee that you’re going to die, while the open borders *is* a guarantee for a drastic decrease in quality of life for the people, or at least the ones who aren’t just murdered.
Someone summed it up like this: Red guarantees that you don’t die, blue guarantees you won’t kill anyone.
I understand that a lot of people say “YOU REALLY THINK AFRICANS AND INDIANS ARE GONNA PRESS BLUE?” So their contention is that you *are* almost certainly committing suicide by not pressing red.
I dunno, but I do know that I can’t allow my behavior to be based on what others do.

Like, it’s true that liberals are much more likely to choose blue here, but they’re also much more likely to believe that murder can be justified for political gain. I don’t think pressing red is the worst thing in the world if you really think that it’s just hopeless to expect blue to prevail. But what if you’re wrong? The shame would be devastating. Someone added a modifier where you’re forever marked with what you choose. That’ll make blue a lot easier of a choice, won’t it? Well, if you’re that worried about what society thinks about you, why not be that worried about what God thinks about you?
