I know you know what they all have in common, BUT: although race-swapping *is* a good enough reason to be turned off, it’s really just a *symptom* of the problem. afaik Netflix-DMC doesn’t race-swap any characters does it? It’s just written by an untalented Indian sperg who hates White people. It’s the underlying philosophy that always makes these shows and movies such slop. They just happen to enjoy using black people as their instruments.

it might still be good. I won’t know. Even though I like black girls way, way more than you do, I don’t watch anything with white-replacement (it really is just too creepy for me) and Greeks are white-enough. But maybe it’ll still be good. Or maybe I’ll just be right, again, and the “positive” reviews of the movie will be “It made all the right people mad! 🤓” yeah that’s real fucking normal.

Parkroads—A Review

Let me finally get this over with.

It’s a fake movie review about a Korean family (the Parks) who travel around the world to find uh… what was it… the Land of Golden...whatever. And it basically just makes the movie sound extremely uh… not necessarily pretentious, but very… … baroque. How about that? Anyway, one funny but tragic part of the movie, three daughters compete to become a ship captain’s wife. And he picks one and just immediately sells her to a brothel. He takes the rest of the family to California, which may or may not be the Golden Land. We don’t know, because the film is in 6 parts, maybe 7, there’s no known correct order to watch them in and they’re all shot in such a way that any order could be correct. But there’s a rumor that the correct order will show that the Golden Land was Korea all along. (or China, idr—a Chinese girl married a Korean man, and both of their families went on the journey iirc)

I’m about to fight Ocelot in MGS3. I did enjoy Snake beating the crap out of him as easily as the Boss beat Snake. I appreciate how stupid and gay he is. Meowing like an ocelot isn’t cool, but it’s pretty funny.

I’m KINDA getting used to the game, but one big problem is that it uses some half-presses for the controls. PS4 controllers don’t have uh… pressure-sensitive buttons, you’re either pressing them or you’re not, you can’t “lightly” press them. So unless you change the controller mapping to somehow allow that, when you grab a guy, you’re IMMEDIATELY going to slice his throat lol.

And you also can’t aim your rifles: that’s a half-press of the same button for firing it. You can aim your *pistols* because you don’t fire them until you release the button. MGS2 was like this too. I could cope with it, but I no-longer WANT to.

So idk, with macros I mapped the left-stick press to a half-press of square, and circle to a half-press of circle... and the uh… Playstation button as a full-press of circle. Just in case I want to slice someone’s throat in my “non-lethal” playthrough. I like having the option.

The game feels like a primitive version of MGSV. That’s not too much of a bad thing since MGSV’s controls are DISGUSTINGLY good. It’s fun holding people up or throwing them to the ground and telling them to FREEZE. Sneaking up on everyone one by one and non-lethally neutralizing an entire camp is more fun than it should be. And sure, I’m SLIGHTLY abusing save-states. It’s kinda laaaaame how slowly you have to approach someone for them not to hear you, after the first two games where you could just run up to someone and they wouldn’t hear you unless you were running on certain surfaces. MGSV’s a bit more forgiving there by default, and also has the sneak suit so you can just run around noiselessly again.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Story? It’s uh… it’s aight. I’m actually still recovering from the Reddit opening (I have atheist trauma). The Boss is pretty cool I guess. The Sorrow is already awesome and I’ve only seen him like once. I’m vaguely aware that at some point he confronts you with… the spirits of all the people you’ve killed, or something. So that’s a good reason to not kill everyone. I just don’t anyway, it’s more—these games are somehow so much more fun without killing.

Yeah, EVA’s sexy and her riding her motorcycle over Ocelot’s face was really funnyy. Is that all? I think that’s everything.

You know what, though? The last line is an example of poor writing. --I mean Kojima’s, not Wizard’s.

The issue with this line is that Snake JUST WENT OVER a number of the customizations. So essentially what he’s saying is this: “Nearly every part of this gun has been expertly crafted and customized, and not only that, nearly every part of this gun has been expertly crafted and customized.” He’s repeating himself.

Remove the “and not only that”, and the line is fixed. “The base of the trigger guard’s been filed down for a higher grip… nearly every part of this gun has been expertly crafted and customized.”

To be fair *some* of it has to do with the way David voice-acted it. It could also work fairly if he at least put emphasis on “every”. “Nearly EVERY part of this gun…”

Please excuse me, let’s get back to Mil-Sim now.
