Speaking of missing things, I missed Summer of Games. ShitpostRock said he liked it, and I haven’t read his post yet but I see Wizard is calling it the “Summer of Tomboys”, so is there hope? Are we so back?

I don’t know, because you’ll have to break my arm to make me pay $70 for a game that isn’t a new Zelda.

Let’s go back to the past.

I suck at Devil May Cry 1. I keep getting raped by puppets flying at me from off-screen. It’s so unfair. I HATE IT.

But the game’s atmosphere is just sooooooo good, man. You can really tell that this was supposed to be a Resident Evil game. It’s just soooooooo nice, man. I don’t wanna give up. But man is it busting my balls.

When I was a kid, I only ever played 2 (lol) I know it sucks, but I DIDN’T THINK IT SUCKED at the time. Also Lucia 1-hit me in puberty.

I can’t say “Remember when women in games were good-looking?” because Japan’s remained consistent over the years. It’s exclusively westoid nations that purposefully take the real-life female character models and make their jaws bigger, foreheads bigger, noses bigger, chests smaller, hips smaller.

Imagine thinking you(a beautiful woman) are going to be a video game character, and the devs completely alter your face to make you hideous.

Yeah that’s really fucking normal. And extremely respectful.

Cherry Jubilee

Was a MURDER MYSTERY by Gene Wolfe I just read, and it was soooooo good, man.

SOOOOOOOO good, man!

There’s an escape artist and her clone, and the clone gets murdered while the artist is performing a trick in outer-space. A KGB agent reveals herself and starts giving her theory of whodunit. And it’s impressive, but you kinda notice that she has no good alibi herself 🤔 Me, a genius, suspects either her or the clone herself committing suicide(knife in chest)

She ends up accusing the captain with a pretty sound theory(on paper) by introducing the possibility of him reprogramming the ship’s robots. But the captain’s wife is the daughter of a high-ranking party member, so the KGB agent gets herself imprisoned instead.

DID the captain do it? Lol no. The clone did: She’d swapped places with the original. Why? 1- she was mistreated and 2- she never got to be a kid, so she never developed a conscious. An American man onboard figures her out (he’s probably a spy or something, we never know—and I THINK he might have been able to vouch for the KGB agent, but why would he?) and the two are now gonna go live happily ever after on Mars with the clone’s new money 🤑

The blonde shook her head.

“The dessert. The way you looked when I told you about the year of the jubilee, when the poor relations got their land back. Your eyes got round. You’re very pretty when your eyes get round.”

Story? Idk who cares. Vampire Queen is frozen and you use her blood to keep yourself alive without drinking human blood. Or something like that. A mysterious petite oppai girl finds you and says she’s your partner. Ok great.

You can have an AI partner with you at all times, so it’s much more chill than Dark Souls.

All of that said, my computer’s fan is driving me insane so I’m going to wrap this up. Code Vein is really good that’sall. I’ll probably never play it again lmao

Is it?

The scariest game I ever played was Visage. It scared the everloving mother fuck out of me. It’s not a contest: no game, in my LIFE, has ever scared me as badly as Visage did.

If you’re reading this, pls remind me to make my “best horror games” list.

I DOUBT Layers of Fear will spook me as badly. Maybe it’ll make me jump more, but I’m CALLING IT NOW: there is not even a remote chance that it will fill me with the fucking DREAD that Visage filled me with. Am I wrong? I’ll install it and find out.

...also while I’m thinking of scary games, there’s a point and click one called “Scratches” that I never got around to playing, I need to—enough, I’m wasting your time.
