i wanna hold your hand šŸ¤

Blogsong? … yeah… lol here.

And when I touch you I feel happy inside

hey, how are you? I hope you’re feeling well.

I’m not, I’m a little hungry. So I’ll brb, ok? I’m gonna eat some chicken soup.

…

…

it was good, I’m okay now.

Uhhhh… psh.

I finally started the Dragon Quest III remake. I can’t help it, I don’t really like it.

It’s probably great for new fans. But I’d rather play any other version.

The amount of uh… the hand-holding is just obnoxious. And hey, you know me, I LOVE hand-holding. It’s one of the most important mechanics that could ever be in a video game. There is literally nothing better.

but only when it’s BETWEEN CHARACTERS, not when it’s the game itself holding your hand. Against your will.

I also just am not crazy about the way it looks. Idk, I’m obviously TAINTED by my experience playing the GBC version as a kid. I remember I was—lol I was playing it when I was at the local diner with my dad. I dropped the cartridge, and my save file was destroyed. I didn’t mind that much for some reason.

I’m just rambling now. The game is GOOD, though, it’s still Dragon Quest III. And something really cool they added was letting you customize the appearance of your party members. That’s neat, right? I hate thinking of names so I just named all of them after JAV actresses. You can always change them later at the Dharma Shrine. (Alltrades Abbey in EN because everything has to be a fucking pun)

I dunno, man, I really don’t know why I can’t enjoy it that much. Do you think it’s because the emulator lets me speed up whenever I want to? Is my brain that fried?

The default battle speed of the game is AGONIZINGLY slow. It’s actually insane. It’s like fucking torture, I’d DIE if you couldn’t speed it up.

Okay, enough. Anything else I wanna complain about? No. Well, yeah sure, why not? The obvious thing.

The gender thing is sillier than usual. But get this: it’s accidentally silly in a chud-positive way. For example, when you choose between Body Type A(male) or Body Type B(female) at the beginning, the game then makes sure you understand ā€œIf you choose this body type, you’ll be playing as a hero/heroine.ā€

Early on you can find a dress, and if you have your happy merchant inspect it, she’ll note it can only be worn by ā€œwomenā€, whatever those are.

In the opening scene, your mother calls you ā€œheā€ if you’re a male, and then in the very next sentence calls you ā€œtheyā€.

The inconsistency is grating. And you know, I’m happy that they didn’t try to, or at least failed to, entirely-erase the reality of men and women, but it’s just soooooooooo silly that when you open up your party stats, you see your characters listed as ā€œAppearance A/Bā€ when the game literally admits that it just means men and women. I don’t even have to do it myself. There’s no head-canon here, the game confirms it in at least 3 different ways less than an hour in, in both in story and mechanics.

Call it autistic nitpicking, I don’t think it is. This is a purely-modern phenomena that didn’t exist when we(you and I) were growing up. And it’s not harmless. Tomboy Genocide is real.

But I also don’t care, because my shoulder hurts 😓

oh and idk I got further in DMC1 but it’s still crushing my balls beneath booted heel.

Zzzzzzz mems

ah, literally Devil May Cry? It went really terribly.

God help me.

no more.

Ttyl, pls keep praying for me
I’m praying for you too, oomf
