Pragmata?

Pragmata is amazing. I’m a little butthurt that I had to get the Switch 2 version because I KNOW my PC can’t handle it. But it still looks amazing. Basically the only thing that’s a “big deal” is uh… Diana’s hair doesn’t look super-duper realistic because it’s not using the nVidya RapeX Quad6700 Hair-X TraceRay HairTech v.88 proprietary hair graphics hair technology. Barely noticeable because she’s still cute.

The game opens with your character, Hugh, saying to his crewmate that it must be tough having kids. Mate says “I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

I understand why mentally ill freaks think this is far-right brainwashing.

Hugh meets Diana very early when she saves him from certain death. She immediately demonstrates how useful she is by hacking a robot to expose its weak points so Hugh can shoot them. Without this, Hugh’s weapons do virtually nothing. You’re not just protecting Diana, she’s protecting you too.

Hugh rapidly forms a bond with her, getting upset at her when she carelessly almost falls over a rail. Your “home base” can be decorated with a number of goods from Earth that exist to make crew members feel more at home, and Hugh tells her that they’re all for her. You actually find and give them to her as presents.

Eventually, she draws a picture of you. A lot of people have reacted to this scene, and it really is just—great. It’s so cute you want to die.

I’m playing with the Japanese voices, because some idiot had to spoil the English VA for Diana for me. Her English VA is FANTASTIC though: exceedingly rare good English voice acting. But once I’ve seen an English voice actor, they stay in my head instead of the character they’re playing, and I can’t get them out, so it ruins the experience for me. I don’t have that same issue with Japanese VAs, because I’m a racist who just kinda blends them all together in my head into one single vague entity of otherworldly beauty. God I love Asians.

Again though: Diana’s English VA is actually FANTASTIC, God bless her.

That said, the Japanese voices are absolutely great, as expected.

Uhhhhhhh… how’s the gameplay? It’s a ton of fun. Every enemy you face, you basically have to hack them with Diana to expose their weak points for Hugh to shoot. It’s fairly easy: you aim at them, use the face buttons to move through a little minigame, and then you can start hurting them. It only feels like controlling a single character, it’s nice and easy.

Plays kinda like Dead Space. Shooting out their legs drops them, etc. God I miss Dead Space… Do I own it on Steam? Iirc the mouse compatibility is atrocious, but big deal, why don’t I just use a controller then?

Anyway: Pragmata’s amazing so far, I love it. Charm beyond charm, fun gameplay. Runs very well, looks great. Diana’s constant yapping is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI WANNA BE A FATHER I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE

I’m farming red orbs in Devil May Cry lol. What do you think about that? :) I’m on mission… idk 5 or 6, I beat the Dark Knight and now I’m just getting a nice 100+ orbs from those really-weak grim reaper bitches. It might be cheap. But I don’t care.

Sometimes I fight the puppets in the hallway. I’ve gotten the hang of the crowd control, dodging, etc. It’s just brutal at first because you have suuuuch little health and you don’t know wtf you’re doing.

I said it before though, the game’s atmosphere is amazinggggg, I feel like I’m playing re4.

you play the latest RE game btw? I was thinking about it but idk… I loved 7, I played it to death. The Village was pretty good too. But. But.

Idk man. I’m actually interested in the RE4 remake, too, I hope it comes to Switch2. It seems like Capcom’s the only company capable of doing good remakes. Even the RE3 remake… look, I know it was WAY too short, and it was NOTHING compare to 2’s remake, but it was still GOOD! I LIKED IT!

It wasn’t great, fine. But I heard people say the RE4 remake is great, minus the yellow paint, right? Zzzzzzzz on the other hand, I don’t really care anyway. I played the original enough times, do I really care that much? I’d rather hang out with Diana, we’ve got a lot to do!

I stopped DQ3. I already wasn’t enjoying myself, and then I found a “Silver Rosary” that turns you into a “Daydreamer” and that just gave me the ick too much, I know it doesn’t sound like much on its own but with all of the other anti-religious shit they insert in their localizations, it’s just too tiring when the game is already not very fun. And of course “Daydreamer” was originally called “Romantic”. To cleanse myself, I played a bit of the GBC and SNES versions (I gave up the NES version, as much as I like it, because you can’t rename your characters). You know the GBC version actually has a few things the SNES version doesn’t? I was wrong about the sprites though, I’m not actually crazy about them lmao I like the NES better definitely and probably even the SNES ones. The GBC is like, a bad mix between them that lacks the good qualities of either.

Anything else… Splatoon looks fun! I really, really, really, really, really don’t want to pay for multiplayer though.
