Yeah, I uhh… played a bit of DQVI. I’m about to become a heckin soldier for the kingdom of whatever to go fight the uh, whatever bad guy.

This game is completely schizophrenic with the amount of *stuff* that happens in it. It rivals VII. You know what both of them have in common?

Neither of them have day-night cycles.

Absolutely disgusting. It really triggers me. Wait, wait… can I cope? DQVI is basically a completely insane dream world, it uh… doesn’t *need* to have a normal day-night cycle, because nothing really *has* to make sense... that makes sense, right?

There’s no excuse really for DQVII.

I don’t care. It’s enjoyable so far. I’m about to meet the uh… whatshisface… the meat-head guy. Carver.

You know what I really love, though? Terry. AND Milly.

They were in Dragon Quest Monsters as kids. You’re Terry, and your sister Milly gets kidnapped so you go fiiiiiiind her and become a MONSTER MASTER. Now they’re older and they’re epic. Terry doesn’t rely on monsters anymore, he’s the greatest swordsman in the fucking world. (he’s actually not that useful by the time you actually meet him 😭 at least in the SNES version)

I love characters showing up in other games like that. And not just as some smol cameo, NO! Milly is a MAIN CHARACTER of VI, and you team up with Terry like halfway into the game. It’s AWESOME.

Now that said

Milly’s design is one of the worst in the entire series. There’s just no way around it. That… whatever that is, that loops around her is just dumb looking. It’s BAD. I wonder if Gem can fix her…

it’s not bad. It’s hard, enemies hit you like trucks. Vintage FromSoft. But there’s something about it that’s kinda neat… and the music is really interesting. Unique.

Not a very pleasant world though. Vintage FromSoft.

makes me sick to my stomach. But idk, it’s an interesting game. Maybe I’ll play a little bit more.
